Any club or organisation, sporting or otherwise, which would like to raise funds can avail of the services of SportsProphet.ie. Clubs or a particular team may wish to raise funds for such things as a team holiday, physio bills, playing gear, pitch developments, or just general club finances. It’s very easy to set up and could even become an annual fundraiser for your club guaranteeing an income at the start of every season
3. How does my Sports club make money from it?
Club members or players sell prediction sheets for a fee of €20 (£20 Northern Ireland) to their friends, family, work colleagues, retired club players or just anyone interested in sport. All this money goes to the participating club apart from prize money for the winners and a fee for SportsProphet.ie
4. How much will my club earn?
How much your club or organisation makes is entirely dependant on how many prediction sheets are sold. Once prize money of €/£800 and SportsProphet.ie’s fee of €/£200 is accounted for, any extra money earned is profit for the club. A club which sells just 200 prediction sheets(40 club players or members seling 5 each) would make.
200 × €20 = €4000
Prizemoney and SportsProphet.ie fee -€1000
Profit €3000
It must be noted that this is just a guide of how much could be earned from selling 200 prediction sheets. How organised and effective a club co-ordinator is at pushing this venture, along with the efforts of club members and players in selling prediction sheets, will largely define how successful the club will be at making a larger or smaller profit than that shown above.

No, each individual club, and not SportsProphet.ie are responsible for the awarding of prize money to the winners of their own competition.
9. How do I get my club signed up?
Appoint a club co-ordinator who will over see the running of your club competition. This person should be at ease with the internet, and more importantly, should be an organised person who will push the sales of prediction sheets. The co-ordinator will email SportsProphet.ie informing them of their intention to participate. The co-ordinator will then receive personal login details which will allow him and only him access to their individual club competition. He uploads club name and details as well as his own personal contact details. His club are then ready to begin selling.
10. What does a club co-ordinator have to do?
The club co-ordinator is the key to the success of this fundraiser for each club. He/she will put in motion and oversee each individual club competition. This person should be at ease with the internet (having the ability to send an email should suffice), and more importantly, should be an organised person who will push the sales of prediction sheets. However, whilst he/she is an integral part of the success, it is an easy task, and can in fact be extremely rewarding when funds begin to accumalate for each club. As well as this, coordinating a novel, exciting and competive competition within a club lends itself to a great sense of satisfaction. The following simple steps can be used as a checklist or a step by step guide for co-ordinators...
Step 1 Click on the Sign your club up icon. Enter the name and details of your club and as well as your own personal details. You will then receive a confirmation email with club login details unique to your club only. Do not reveal these details to anyone else unless you need help uploading or validating prediction sheets. These login details give you access to your club section allowing you to print off prediction sheets, validate entries or upload others which have not been entered online.
Step 2 Print off a prediction sheet from Sportsprophet.ie.Photocopy 200 or so of these. Try to photocopy back and front which will save on paper. Distribute these to current players, ex players, club members or anyone else who may be able to sell them. Give 5 prediction sheets to each person or player and inform them that they are expected to sell 5 and in doing so earn €100 for the club. If particular people can sell more, then all the better. Sellers should be informed to encourage potential entrants to enter online, though entering manually by filling out a form is also quite acceptable.
Step 3 Sellers go about selling prediction sheets. Those that enter online will inform their seller when they have entered and pay them the fee of €20. The seller will pass on the money along with the name of the entrant to the co-ordinator. The co-ordinator then logs on to the club section using the private login details and validates the entry in question.
Step 4 Those that wish to enter manually by physically filling out a prediction sheet will return it to their seller along with the fee of €20. The seller will pass on the form along with the fee to the club co-ordinator. The co-ordinator then logs on to the club section using the private login details and uploads the answers online. This entry is then validated. If a large numer of prediction sheets are returned which need to be uploaded on SportsProphet.ie, then it may be a good idea to reveal the club login details to one or more responsible people who can help with this.
Step 5 Once every entry has been uploaded and validated, the work is basically finished and you can relax and wait as SportsProphet.ie correct and update your club leaderboard as the sporting events occur throughout the year. All that remains now is the presentation of cash prizes to the winners which clubs are responsible for themselves.
11. What do the sellers have to do?
Sellers will be given at least 5 prediction sheets to sell in order to raise money for their club. They can ask their friends, family, house mates, work colleagues, college friends, team mates from other teams or sports, former players, or basically anyone who has an interest in sport and whom you think would relish the challenge of taking part on SportsProphet.ie. Sellers should encourage potential clients to enter online (more convenient to everyone), but obviously manually filling out a form is quite acceptable also. When your 5 or more clients have either submitted online or filled out a prediction sheet, do not give their names to the club co-ordinator for validating until they have paid you the fee of €20. As you hand over the money to the co-ordinator, inform him of the entrants names who need to be validated, and he can also upload any prediction sheet you give to him, once accompanied with the fee. In other words, no entry should be either validated or uploaded without the accompanying fee.
12. When is the closing date for clubs to sign up?
The final date by which clubs should be signed up by is February 3rd. However it is recommended that clubs sign up much earlier than this (December or early January) so as to allow sellers sufficient time to meet with people and sell as many prediction sheets as possible.
13. How does my club pay SportsProphet.ie?
You can pay SportsProphet.ie by cheque or bank draft made payable to SportsProphet.ie anytime before March 1st 2010 - (€200 Republic of Ireland or £200 Northern Ireland). This should then be posted to....

For all other queries, you can email SportsProphet.ie at info@sportsprophet.ie
15. How do I enter a prediction sheet?
You can enter in one of two different ways:
Online; The first and easiest way is to submit your answer sheet online. This involves filling out your online prediction sheet. You must then include your name and email, and specify which club you would like to support, therefore entering you in their particular competition and leaderboard. Once you submit, you will receive a confirmation email with a password which allows you to log on and check your answer sheet any time you wish and even change your answers as often as you wish up until the deadline of February 12th. Once you have submitted your prediction sheet, it is important that you pay the fee of €20 to your seller. As soon as the co-ordinator receives your payment your entry will be validated and therefore ready to earn points on the leaderboard.
Manually; The second way to enter is to manually fill out a prediction sheet with a pen. Circle your chosen answers from a list of options and then include your name and email address if you have one. Hand this prediction sheet to your seller along with a payment of €20. He will then pass on your sheet and payment to the club co-ordinator, who, only on receiving the fee of €20, will upload and validate your answer sheet online. If you include an email, you will receive confirmation of your entry along with a password which will allow you view your answer sheet online any time you wish and even change your answers up until the deadline of February 12th.
Note It is extremely important that you have submitted (manually or online) and paid your fee by the deadline of Friday February 12th in order to have your entry validated before the first sporting event occurs.
16. Can I enter even if I haven’t been approached by a seller or club?
Yes, you can still enter in either of two ways, manually or online (see question fifteen). If you know which club you would like to support or simply which club competition you would like to enter, the details of that particular club co-ordinator will be emailed to you after you submit online. you can then post on the €20 euro, clearly stating your name and any other details. Your entry will then be validated. Alternatively if you are aquainted with a club member and trust them sufficiently, you can ask them to pass on your fee to the co-ordinator.
17. Is my application valid if I submit online?
Your online entry is only valid when the club co-ordinator receives your fee. He/she will then validate your entry. Online submission of entries alone (i.e. without paying the fee) does not include you in any club competition.
18. Whom do I pay if I wish to submit a prediction sheet?
You can pay a number of people associated with your particular chosen club. Every club has a group of sellers (people nominated to sell prediction sheets). You can pay these people who will then pass on the money to the club co-ordinator. You can also pay the club co-ordinator directly, his/her details which will be emailed to you if you submit your answers online.
19. What happens if an online entrant doesn't pay the relevant fee?
Club co-ordinators reserve the right to delete any members name from their club leaderboard, if the relevant fee for their entry has not been received by the club co-ordinator by the deadline date of February 12th 2010. It is ultimately the entrants responsibility that the club co-ordinator receives this fee so that his/her entry may be validated before the first sporting event begins. The club co-ordinators decision is final in all matters relating to their individual club league.
20. Why do I need to login?
It is necessary to login to view your own particular answer sheet which you submitted and also if you wish to change any of your answers which you can do up until Feb 12th 2010. Answer sheets are not viewable to the public which means you cannot view anyone elses answers and they cannot view yours.
21. Can I manually submit a form as opposed to online?
Yes you can enter manually by fill out a prediction sheet with a pen. If you include an email, you will receive confirmation of your entry along with a password which will allow you view your answer sheet online any time you wish and change your answers if you so wish up until Feb 12th 2010.
Note It is extremely important that you have submitted (manually or online) and paid your fee by the deadline of Friday February 12th in order to have your entry validated before the first sporting event occurs.
22. Can I view my answer sheet online?
Yes you can. This can be done by logging in online using your email address and the password which SportsProphet.ie either sent, or will be sending to you when you submit an answer sheet. If you submit manually, and you do not provide an email address on the prediction sheet, then you will not be able to view your answer sheet online or change any of your answers up until the deadline date of Feb 12th. Answer sheets are not viewable to the public and can only be viewed by those who submit them as long as they have a valid email address and password.

Yes, all club leaderboards can be viewed online by anyone, without having to enter login details
26. What type of scoring system is used on the leader boards?
Ten points are awarded to each entrant for every question they predict correctly and zero points are awarded if they get that question wrong. A few questions have multiple parts, and therefore entrants can still earn points, even if they only get parts of that question correct. The exact points available for each question can be seen on the prediction sheets.
27. Why do I have to answer a tie-breaker question?
A tie breaker question is necessary, in case any entrant in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd position happens to be tied on equal points with another entrant. If they still cannot be seperated afer the tie breaker, then the prize money for that particular position will be divided equally among them. Note; the tie breaker question is not included in the normal scoring system of points and will only be used in the event of a tie between entrants in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd position.
28. How often will scores be updated online?
Scores and leader boards will be updated shortly after a sporting event finishes. Every participant will then receive an email inviting them to visit SportsProphet.ie to check their progress on their leader board
29. When is the final date to submit a prediction sheet either online or manually?
The final date to enter a prediction sheet is Friday February 12th. All entries, both online and manual need to be submitted at this stage so that they can be validated before the first sporting event takes place.
